PYRITE


My research for this project evidenced the unethical and unsustainable practices of the gold industry. Mining practices are often unsafe and exploit underpaid and vulnerable workers in underdeveloped countries to the benefit of rich multinational corporations.

This project aimed to produce branding for a sustainable gold company along with a campaign to raise awareness.

The brand is called ‘Pyrite’, which is a mineral also known as ‘Fool’s Gold’ and is commonly mistaken for gold. I ask the question “ What do you value?” in the campaigns to encourage viewers question the value of Gold compared to the lives of these people.
